Hi,

I am new to lifting and to this site but need to ask advice on how to stay motivated to train, I find that if I have a bad nights sleep I just cnat find it in me to train, I am sure I am not alone on this, just wondering what other people do to keep going?

Its all about goals!
You need to be focused and dedicated to achieve your ultimate dream, however in this sport you will never achieve this, as you will find, once you get to where you first wanted to be,its just not big enough!

Agree with Bulldozer on this one.
Sometimes if I know I need to train in the evening I will pop an Eph about 2pm.
I will be doing this today as I am feeling it from Rugby training last night and I know I will be flagging by about 7pm.

I just remember that if I don't exercise, I will be one step closer to being lazy and/ or fat.

Keep records of your weight and measurements and set yourself some goals. I find it good to add a little weight every now and again and push yourself to lift it, even if its just 4 or 5 reps. When you really cant be ar*ed, push yourself to just have a little session, getting to the gym is half the battle for most.

Oh, and watch the Rocky 4 training sequence "Hearts on fiiiiirree....."
