Before anybody asks about the difference in Prize money please understand I am in no way trying to undermine female competitors in any way the opposite to be honest, i would love to see a show full of both male and female competitors. However, Bodybuilding in Ireland is a far way off attracting the level of interest amoung female competitors as compared with the UK
At this same show last year we did not have one single female competitor and many of the other shows in Ireland would only attract small numbers of female competitors.
Therefor the prize money reflects the amount of male competitors in relation to female competitors. As there will be a lot more males compared to females ( as reflected in previous shows) any male will find it harder to win than a female so the prize money needs to reflect this. It would be great to see a lot more females and if we do get a mass amount we will definately change the prize money accordingly.
